No More Crumbs is run by Smartland. This page says what we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. The short version: we count votes, we keep your email only if you give it to us, and we don’t sell anything to anyone.
What we collect
- Your votes. Which side of the crumb question you picked and which cereal you voted for, with the time, your country (from your connection), and the kind of browser or app you used, such as “iPhone, TikTok app.”
- Your email, if you give it. We use it for one thing: to tell you if a cereal company signs on. Before we send that, we’ll send one email asking you to confirm the address. If you don’t confirm, we won’t write again.
- Two cookies.
nmc_dis a random ID that lets us count one vote per device; it lasts a year.nmc_vremembers which video link brought you here, for 30 days, so we can tell which videos work. Both are set by this site only. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party ad pixels. - A one-way hash of your connection. To stop repeat votes from browsers that block cookies, we keep a scrambled code made from your IP address, your browser’s identifier, and the date. It can’t be turned back into your IP address, and we never store the IP address itself.
- Page activity. Page views and taps on Share or Copy, tied to the video link you came from. None of this is linked to your email address.
- On your own device. Your browser’s local storage remembers how you voted so the page can show it when you come back. That stays on your device.
Bot protection and hosting
Cloudflare hosts this site and runs Turnstile, which checks in the background that votes and signups come from people rather than scripts. To do that, Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser and connection under the Cloudflare privacy policy. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits and load times without cookies and without tracking you across sites.
Who sees what
Smartland sees the records described above. We publish vote totals once there are enough verified votes, and we may show totals to cereal and packaging companies. That means counts, such as how many people voted for a brand or confirmed their email, never your email address or your individual vote. When we start sending email, an email delivery service will handle your address only to deliver our messages.
Your choices
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- To delete your email address from our list, write to vadim.k@smartland.com.
- You can block cookies and still vote; we’ll use the connection hash instead.
Children
This site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect email addresses from them. If you think a child under 13 gave us an email address, tell us and we’ll delete it.
How long we keep things
We keep email addresses until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete yours, or the campaign ends. Votes are kept with hashed identifiers only, so we can show how the totals were counted.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. Questions: vadim.k@smartland.com.
